October 1, 2007

Ladies, it was good to be with you tonight. I'm just learning about this blog stuff and thought this might be good practice. I also have another motive. I will only be able to be with you ladies for the month of October. I will be starting a class on Monday nights at Warner Pacific College, and will be missing the discussion...I thought I could use this blog to stay connected.

Tonight's video was very practical and something that I want to start putting into practice in my daily life. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I pray that you have a great week in your study time. Remember what Colossians 1:29 says, "to this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." May you be filled with "his energy" as you face each new day. Blessings, Tabi

I esp. enjoyed Beth's comment about how we must live barefoot on the pavement of life. The comment made me grin but I stopped and said - that's not avoiding reality layers and layers of whatever so I don't feel pain or even joy.

It was encouraging to be with you all on Monday; I look forward to our times together.
A couple of the things which Beth shared on the video that really stuck out to me were:
"NOTHING that sin can give us can replace what it takes away!" WOW, what a profound reminder. At the same time, she admonishes us "Do not bow down to guilt; accept the forgiveness of God."...Dare to live as forgiven.
How wonderful we have an "Abba"/Father who loves us so much he doesn't want us to live in shame and guilt all the time, he offered us a way of feeling fresh and new.

I've been thinking a lot more about love and marriage. While eros is great,it waxes and wanes. Agape is what allows me to continue trying to be a good wife when I really want to poison his oatmeal. Phileos, though, is what makes marriage such a joy almost every day. Throughout the years I've noticed that when I'm not very happy with my marriage it's been because of a lack of time spent together just hanging out being friends.
